A place for kids to learn
about Jesus at their level
Frequently asked questions
-
At Lakes Area Vineyard we want your children to experience God, and grow in their ability to love God and people while learning how to give that love away.
-
Our check-in process begins 15 minutes before each service.
When you check-in, you will be given a four-digit code on your tag and your kids’ name tags. If your child needs a parent during the service, your number will be displayed on the lower right corner of each screen in the main sanctuary.
At the end of the service, you will pick up your child by providing your parent tag to an individual on the Vineyard Kids team. The Nursery, Preschool, and Kindergarten programs are located behind the check-in desk. Elementary (1st through 4th Grade) programs are in the gym. The 5th Grade classroom is located in the hallway south of the gym.

At the Vineyard, we have a saying “There is no Big Holy Spirit and Little Holy Spirit.” That’s our way of expressing that the same God that lives and works through each of us, lives and works in our children as well. Jesus himself often spoke of the crucial role that children play in God’s Kingdom so we are following his lead and showing them that God has a plan for their life and each of them has a unique role to play. We want to incite wonder, provoke discovery and invite children into a new understanding of how to grow in relationship with Jesus. We do that by providing a safe and fun environment where every child can feel appreciated and loved.
-
The safety of all children is our highest priority. Name tags and parent tags help us to ensure the right person is picking up at check out. All leaders have gone through an onboarding process where they complete background checks and ministry-safe training. Leaders are identified by a name badge.

NURSERY
The nursery is separated into two rooms based on age: Newborn through 9 months, then 10 months through 1 year. During the service, your child will be held and cared for by trained volunteers. Your kids will love the engaging toys available to them!
-
PRESCHOOL
Preschool consists of separate classrooms specially designed for 2-year-olds, 3-year-olds, 4-year-olds, and 5-year-olds combined with Kindergartners. Once kindergarteners complete their school year, they are considered 1st Graders immediately. Your child will participate in fun games, a craft or coloring, kid-friendly worship, skits, puppets, and a Bible lesson.
-
ELEMENTARY
Elementary programs are located in the gym. The kids will participate in a small group experience intended to help them apply the Bible lesson to their daily life. 1st through 4th Graders receive weekly resources to take home to help facilitate scripture study with their families.
-
5TH GRADE
Once students complete their 4th Grade school year, they are considered 5th Graders immediately. Fifth Graders remain in the main sanctuary for “adult worship” and are dismissed back to the check-in desk once worship is done. Students will participate in a lesson tailored to their specific age group, a small group discussion, and prayer. Checkout is required for 5th graders as well and is located in the 5th Grade classroom in the hallway south of the gym. Parents need to check in with their 5th graders BEFORE the service starts.
